The tour supports D.R.E.A.M. the Music as well as a new EP, Celebrate, and features tons of fun and surprises. At one point, JoJo zooms down a giant slide. At another, she disappears from the stage in a giant spray of confetti. There are several costume changes and set pieces that form an intricate narrative that incorporates multiple fantasy lands, a misbehaving puppy, a sparkly unicorn, and even a time-traveling bow. She worked with longtime Lady Gaga collaborator Richy Jackson, who choreographed new dance routines for the stage show. The super-intricate steps are perfect for JoJo, who’s been dancing basically from the cradle.

JoJo also includes tributes to some of the greats. After seeing Bohemian Rhapsody, she became “obsessed” with Freddie Mercury. She was taken in by his incomparable showmanship and abundant talent. And she also saw a little of herself in him. “He was unapologetically himself…. He looked different than everyone. I’ve always been like that,” she told Time.
